How Many People Visit Yosemite National Park Each Year?

Yosemite National Park, located in east central California's Mariposa, Tuolomne and Madera counties, draws over 3.7 million visitors every year. There are many things to do in the park's massive 761,268 acres. With over 90 percent of the park designated as wilderness land Yosemite National Park provides countless outdoors activities.
One of the most favored activities is simply enjoying the views and wildlife in the Yosemite Valley, which makes up only a small portion of the park but draws the most visitors. Visitors also enjoy driving around the park, riding their bikes, hiking and even horseback riding. There are also many opportunities for rock climbing. Rock climbers can enjoy their sport year round at Yosemite National Park. Many climbers take advantage of a large granite cliff named El Capitan.
Visitors can choose between self-guided tours and bus tours that are offered year round. One of the most popular tours is the Valley Floor Tour, a two-hour tour around Yosemite Valley. Another popular tour is one that lasts four hours and takes visitors to Glacier Point. There are plenty of activities to do in the winter. Visitors can come to the Badger Pass ski area for downhill skiing and snowboarding. They can also enjoy ice skating in an outdoor rink at Curry Village between November and March.
